Healthy InSights®
Experience Transitions VI

As Transitions celebrates another successful year with our partners, our goal for 2008 is to continue to provide you and your patients with the latest and most innovative resources to help you grow your business – starting with the launch of our most advanced photochromic technology ever: Transitions® VI lenses.

In this issue of Healthy InSights, we’ll tell you more about this groundbreaking new product –available in all major lens materials and designs! As we kick off a national tour to support the launch of Transitions VI lenses, we’ll let you know where you can go to “experience” the new technology first-hand.

Plus, we’ll fill you in on the 12th annual Transitions Academy, held in Orlando, Fla. in January. At Academy, we introduced new education and marketing tools for 2008 that you can use to help communicate the benefits of Transitions lenses to your patients. And, for the first time, Transitions held a managed vision care track, which explored the need for education on the value of vision benefits and the importance of healthy sight.

Finally, you’ll meet the winner of the 2007 Transitions Lab of the Year – and learn about how they boosted their business with Transitions!

Introducing Transitions VI Lenses

Advanced Performance Across All Major Lens Materials and Designs

Transitions is continuing to set new standards of photochromic lens performance with the introduction of Transitions® VI lenses. Representing the largest product launch in the history of the optical industry, Transitions VI lenses will provide the most advanced photochromic technology in today’s marketplace across all major lens materials and designs.

As with prior generations, Transitions VI lenses provide all of the value of regular, clear lenses – plus much more. Offering consistent, high-level performance for your patients, Transitions VI lenses feature improvements over the previous generations of Transitions technology – they are clearer indoors, darker outdoors and faster to fade back than ever before!

Transitions VI lenses also block 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation – and now provide UV 400 protection. Additionally, Transitions VI lenses are compatible with anti-reflective coatings from all major manufacturers.

The launch of Transitions VI lenses will be supported by an extensive marketing campaign – which will help to promote the enhanced, everyday visual quality and eye health protection benefits of Transitions lenses to consumers throughout 2008.

Managed Vision Care Track Debuts at
Transitions Academy

Healthy Sight Workshops Educate Vision Plan Providers, Brokers

Kicking off a new tradition for the benefits industry, Transitions welcomed approximately 60 vision plan provider representatives and brokers to the 2008 Transitions Academy to take part in the first-annual managed vision care track. During the event, attendees explored the need for education on the value of vision benefits and the importance of regular, comprehensive eye care.

The track included presentations by leaders in both eye care and the benefits industry. Speakers emphasized the role that managed vision care plays in educating consumers on how to preserve their healthy sight, and also addressed challenges in promoting vision plans, such as low awareness of the need for healthy sight among HR managers. Additionally, attendees got a chance to explore new communication tools available for the managed vision care industry on the Transitions Online Marketing (TOM) tool.

Managed vision care track participants were also able to take advantage of education courses taken by general event attendees, as well as networking opportunities between the vision benefits and optical industries.
