Largest Marketing Campaign in Transitions' History

By now you’ve probably seen Transitions Optical’s new television commercial, which features a “day in the life” of a nature cinematographer, who relies on her eyes for her work. The commercial will make an estimated 4 billion impressions throughout 2008 – driving patients to you for more information about UV protection and the benefits of Transitions® lenses!

The commercial will air over a 25-week span, with spots scheduled to run during top primetime, daytime, syndicated, news and cable television shows. Plus, consumers who view television shows online at ABC.com will be able to see the Transitions commercial through a streaming video player! Check out the new commercial on TV now – or watch it online!

The commercial is being supported by new print advertising and the largest marketing campaign in Transitions Optical’s history. The print ads, which feature real-life photojournalists, will appear in popular consumer publications – making more than 270 million impressions! Transitions Commercial Airs in Times Square

New Transitions Ad to Reach 1.5 Million Viewers Daily

As you make your way around New York City during Vision Expo East, be sure to look up while visiting Times Square! The Transitions brand will be visible on the “jumbotron” throughout the month of April, reaching an estimated 42 million viewers.

The new commercial will air six hours a day between 9 a.m. and 2 a.m. – or nearly 2,000 times per month – reminding more than 1.5 million daily passers-by to protect their eyes from harmful UV rays. Be sure to stop by Times Square and check it out for yourself!

Commercial to Air in Spanish During Sunday Soccer Games on Telefutura

Transitions is airing its commercial in Spanish for the first time during Telefutura’s telecast of Major League Soccer in 2008 – reaching 127.5 million consumers about the importance of healthy sight and the benefits of Transitions® lenses. To complement this initiative, Transitions is kicking off a Watch and Win Sweepstakes, giving viewers a chance to win a variety of soccer-themed prizes.

The Watch and Win Sweepstakes will run March 30 through Nov. 23, 2008. The Transitions logo will be visible on the official game clock during each game, and a Watch and Win-themed electronic billboard will drive viewers to the Transitions Web site, where they can register to win weekly prizes - including a grand prize trip."

11-City Tour Wraps Up With Stops in New York and Detroit

Transitions Scholarship Program Focuses on Healthy Sight Counseling

Renewed Initiative Supports Opticianry and Optometry Students

Transitions is continuing its scholarship program in 2008! Supported by the Transitions® Healthy Sight for Life Fund, the initiative will award $500 scholarships to outstanding opticianry and optometry students under the 2008 theme: Focus on Healthy Sight Counseling.

To apply, students must create a project exploring one aspect of Healthy Sight Counseling - Vision Care, Vision Wear or Education. Scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate a clear understanding of how the optician or optometrist can play a role in making one aspect of Healthy Sight Counseling a part of patient care in everyday practice.

Students are encouraged to submit projects of any length and format by the May 15, 2008 deadline, and winners will be announced by June 15, 2008. For more information about the scholarship program or Healthy Sight Counseling, contact education@transitions.com or visit the Transitions Web site.
